چکیده
Material and methods An analysis of pre-operational 82 CT in children with the pectus excavatum deformity was made. Patients were divided into two groups depending on the chest deformation ; the first one consisted of patients with symmetric pectus excavatum, there were 48 patients (9 girls, 39 boys), the mean age was 12,8 years (4-16), the average Haller index was 3,6 (2,2-7,1); in the second group with dissymmetric pectus excavatum there were 35 patients (8 girls, 27 boys), the mean age was 11,8 years (7-17), the average Haller index was 2,9 (2,4-5,8).

19 The aim of the study was to correlate the clinical severity of pectus excavatum with its type 20 and degree based on objective radiographic evaluation. Twelve brachycephalic dogs were 21 included. Grading of the clinical severity was done based on a 6-point grading score. 22 Thoracic radiographs were used to calculate the frontosagittal and vertebral indices at the 23 tenth thoracic vertebra...

BACKGROUND This study investigated the incidence, imaging characteristics and mechanical factors in scoliotic patients with pectus excavatum. METHODS A total of 142 scoliostic patients with pectus excavatum were evaluated prior to operation. The evaluation included a complete physical exam, phenotype and severity of the pectus excavatum, incidence and severity of scoliosis, and analysis of ra...

Pectus excavatum is the most common congenital deformity of the chest wall. The most frequently used techniques include Ravitch (costochondral resection) and Nuss (minimally invasive pectus repair of pectus excavatum [MIRPE]). The Nuss technique includes using temporary metallic bars without costochondral resection to correct the chest wall deformity. Modified MIRPE can be learned easily and pe...

Background Pectus excavatum (PE) as the most common anterior chest deformity is characterized by sternal depression with corresponding leftward displacement and rotation of the heart which is troublesome for assessment by ultrasound. Therefore CMR plays a growing role in preoperative evaluation. Indication for surgical correction is based on a diameter-based assessment of the thorax (Haller-Ind...
